Seasoned Oil and Gas Exploration and Development Team
Mr. Osterbuhr has over 29 years of experience in the oil & gas industry. Former Vice President of Exploration and Business Development at Emerald Oil, Inc. a public E&P company with operations in the Williston Basin. He helped the CEO build the company with $380M of acquisitions & divestitures, $641M of debt & equity capital raises and asset valuations worth over $6.2B. Mr. Osterbuhr also ran the geosciences group and implemented the enhanced completion and high graded geo-steering that was responsible for Emerald’s technical success. As the former President and co-founder of New York Shale Gas LLC, he raised $12M of private equity and leased over 35K acres prospective for the Utica and Marcellus shales in Upstate New York. Mr. Osterbuhr served as the Vice President of Exploration for Delta Petroleum where he helped evaluate numerous acquisitions in multiple US basins in the Lower 48. He was also responsible for developing Delta’s foundation asset and served as the business unit lead of the Austin Chalk group which was a horizontal HTHP drilling and completion operation, this was Delta’s most profitable business unit. He began his career working as a consultant in the oil fields of Kansas with his family where he accumulated extensive operations experience. Mr. Osterbuhr graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology.
Mr. Wiesner has over 27 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He has been CFO for three oil and gas companies; two publicly traded and one privately financed. He has raised in excess of $500 million in public stock and convertible debt offerings and $100 million in private equity. He was instrumental in the sale of the private oil and gas company for $1.05B in 2010. He has experience in listing companies on the Canadian and American stock exchanges. Mr. Wiesner is well versed in senior debt financing and debt syndication. He has strong skills and experience with public compliance having written many of the financial and disclosures required by the SEC for public companies and security offerings. He has orchestrated due diligence on acquisition and deposition of assets and entities. Mr. Wiesner received an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Business and has a Bachelor degree from Claremont McKenna College.
Dr. John Decker has over 45 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, government and academia. He is currently a partner of ONE LLC which runs sea bottom mapping and sampling programs for oil and gas exploration worldwide. He was a co-founder of Black Gold Energy LLC, which established one of the largest acreage positions in Indonesia and sold for $300 million USD. He was Manager of Regional Geology for Chevron Indonesia and Unocal Indonesia. A Regional Geologist for ARCO Indonesia and ARCO Alaska. He was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Alaska. He has a BS in geology and geophysics from University of California Berkeley, an MS from University of Alaska, and a PhD from Stanford University.
Norm Mayr is a retired (October 2016) Audit Partner having spent 38 years in public practice with KPMG. He was the Risk Management and Business Unit Professional Practice Partner for the Greater Vancouver Area practice of KPMG for the most recent 18 years of his career. Norm has had extensive experience in the mining, forestry, technology, real estate, retail and industrial markets sectors. He has served as lead engagement partner and engagement quality review partner on many of the KPMG’s largest clients in these industries, including multinational reporting issuers. He is a founding member of the CICA Accounting Standards Board, and a member of the Canadian Advisory Group to the International Accounting Standards Committee.
Dr. Bischke has over 44 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He was the Chief Structural Geophysicist for Subsurface Consultants & Associates LLC (SCA). He focuses primarily on worldwide projects for major oil companies and large independents. Dr. Bischke was also an Associate Professor of Geology and Geophysics at Temple University (1973–82) and an adjunct Professor of Engineering at Drexel University. During this time, he became associated with the consulting firm International Exploration (INTEX). As Chief Exploration Geophysicist he consulted with major oil companies and large independents, primarily in frontier basins, and conducted extensive studies throughout the world. He assisted in the exploration and development of the super-giant El Furrial trend and in the exploration of the offshore Orinoco Delta Complex in Venezuela, and he has worked on other projects throughout Venezuela and other regions of South America. Dr. Bischke has additional expertise in all the tectonic provinces, including compressional, extensional, strike-slip, and diapiric regimes. In the United States, he has conducted studies in the eastern and western overthrust belts, including the Appalachians, the Northern and Southern Rockies, and the Ouchita Fold Belt, as well as in the North Slope of Alaska, offshore and onshore California, in the shallow and deep-water Gulf of Mexico, and the Gulf Coast and Midland Basins of the USA. He was also involved with several significant oil and gas discoveries in Louisiana, Venezuela, and the offshore Palawan, Philippines.
Mr. Langlois has over 17 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Currently, he is an Exploration Manager for CGX Energy, a publicly traded company on the Toronto Venture Exchange, that is actively drilling in offshore Guyana. He has served as Vice President of Tiburon Resources LLC, focusing on acquisition and operations of undercapitalized assets. Mr. Langlois co-founded Recif Resources, providing innovative solutions to exploration and appraisal subsurface challenges in onshore U.S. and Gulf of Mexico. Mr. Langlois held both technical and advisory roles at Cobalt International Energy, leading to multiple discoveries in the U.S. and West Africa. During his 10-year career at Chevron, Mr. Langlois was responsible for numerous international geologic assessments and field developments. His worldwide international experience includes North America, Gulf of Mexico, Middle East, Africa, Europe, and South Asia. Mr. Langlois matured drilling campaigns and has successfully deployed new technologies across many basins. Mr. Langlois began his career with Unocal Corporation as a geologist in Deep-water Gulf of Mexico. He graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Geology.
